Pausing CashBack

According to Fondue’s Merchant Terms, customers have up to six months to select their reward after earning CashBack on eligible orders. If your brand needs to permanently or temporarily offboard CashBack, you can pause your Fondue account. Pausing waives Fondue’s monthly platform fee while still allowing customers to select the CashBack reward they’ve already earned during their six-month eligibility window. This helps you maintain a consistent customer experience while reducing costs.


How to pause your account

  1. To pause your Fondue account, navigate to Settings, then select Billing
  2. Scroll down to the Pause Account card. Select the Pause Account button, then confirm.

What happens next

While your account is paused:

  • You will not be able to create, activate, or manage CashBack promotions.
  • CashBack will no longer be offered on new orders.
  • The CashBack Bubble and checkout extension will no longer appear to site visitors.

Customers who already earned CashBack on eligible purchases made before the pause will still have six months from their purchase date to select their reward.

Once paused, you will no longer be billed Fondue’s monthly platform fee. However, your brand will continue to be charged weekly for any prepaid award card selections.


How to resume your account

To resume offering CashBack rewards, uninstall the Fondue app from your Shopify store and then reinstall it. After reinstalling, you can manage your CashBack program as usual. All prior CashBack and order data will be restored automatically.
